By default, ID Shield creates redactions by permanently "burning in" black boxes on the output images so that they cannot be unmasked by image editors. Select the Apply redactions as annotations in output file checkbox if you want to create redacted regions as annotations.Annotations can only be retained for TIF images. Select the Retain existing annotations in output file checkbox if your original images contain annotations(such as document stamps or watermarks) that you want to retain in your redacted output files.Retaining any previously existing redactions in the output file is appropriate if the input file is being processed again - perhaps to redact additional sensitive data.Refer to Expandabl e Tagsfor details on the available tags. The Image Output File Name is typically specified using tags that reference the name and location of the source document. You may use the expandabl e tagsbutton to insert a tag corresponding to the format and path for the input file(s). If you want to customize your ID Shield data file location, click Customize to specify a new file path.If you want to redact only particular attributes, choose Selected and select the checkboxes next to the attributes you want to redact. If you wish to redact all data, choose All. Make a selection for Data categories to redact. The Redaction: Create redacted image settings window appears. Enter a description for your task in the Task description field (optional). From the Select Task menu, choose Redaction: Create redacted image, as shown below. After you have enabled processing in the Actio n tab, click the Processin g Setu p tab.Image sets containing handwritten data will have a higher error rate and should be manually verified using the Redaction : Verif y Sensitiv e Datatask. One exception to this rule is when the image contains handwritten data, which is difficult for the OCR engine to recognize, thus leading to under-redaction. Only a small percentage of errors involve failure to redact sensitive data. Testing has shown that some of these errors are "over-redaction," where burned-in regions are created over data that did not require redaction. You can generate a VOA file by running either the Execut e Rulestask or the Verif y Sensitiv e Datatask.Īs with any automated process, mistakes are unavoidable. With this technique, you will choose the Create Redacted Image task in the Processing Setup tab. When using ID Shield to redact images, one option is to run fully automated redaction.
